I acquired a bunch of old ink canisters that happen to make perfect candle containers. You can pretty much take any ceramic or glass receptacle and transform it into a candle. My first batch was lavender scented but I’m excited to try other scents like citrus, sandalwood, and pine. Can’t wait to start a candle making factory soon!
I went downtown to check out the sugar castle at the historic Westin St. Francis Hotel. The ingredient quantities alone are something to marvel at. There are dueling giant gingerbread mansions around town so you can have various Hansel & Gretel moments like myself. Luckily, my house isn’t edible, otherwise I might not have a roof over my head.
In an aim to make something a bit cuter than your average bike basket net, I started knitting my own. I sometimes carry quite a load in my basket so the knit cover also protects precious cargo from falling out when going down hills or bumps in the road. They are currently for sale in my Etsy shop by the same name Soup and the Clouds. I’m still adding details/products etc. but they’ll be available in many different 1-2 color combinations soon.

I was lucky enough to take quick trip up to Portland, OR and attend a couple of design week events. My favorite event was the Letterpress Fair held in the Oregon Rail Heritage Museum. They even steamrolled woodcut prints! Two of my passions: printing and trains!
Hello from Portland! I’ll be exploring the city and will report back. See you next week!

I’ve been wanting to make friendship bracelets/rings for a while now and finally got around to it. There is a plethora of styles, patterns, and color combinations to try. I think I’m hooked! It’s not weird at all to make a friendship bracelet for yourself (and friends too of course)! Martha Stewart has great instructions and tutorials here.
Gold goes with every color!
First attempt at the chevron pattern.
