Mississippi Records Portland, OR

Mississippi Records is one of my all-time favorite record stores. It moved locations (from Mississippi St.) since my last visit so I was eager to check out the new spot. It’s right next to Sweedeedee, a sweet cafe with a turntable spinning records, so we stopped to fuel up before digging through the bins. Mississippi also has a record label which includes reissues of obscure blues/folk musicians like the one man band Abner Jay. They have two listening stations so you can preview before the purchase, or just listen to the unknown to discover new tunes. I will be back, oh yes!

About Soup and the Clouds

I treasure the small adventures in life. Such as, listening to records, making jam from farmer's market produce, seeing new sites, eating the best tomato I've ever had, reading a good book, watching a film, appreciating a good font, going for a long bike ride or walking down a street I've never walked on before. The list goes on.
