I Heart New York

Like millions of people, I too heart New York. Although, I was there for work, I tried to spend every non-working moment exploring and enjoying the big city. My own two feet served as my main transport which I think is the best way to see a city. A week went by in a New York minute.

I came into an 80s ice cream maker just in time for summer. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. First up strawberry frozen yogurt.

Marin County Civic Center- FLW

Entering a Frank Lloyd Wright building is like stepping through a vortex into his mind. Each detail, down to a door knob, is calculated and deliberate. His left and right brain got along famously. ┬áThe Marin County Civic Center has been on my Bay Area bucket list. It was his last commission before his death, finished posthumously, and was one is his largest works incorporating many buildings. Here’s a glimpse…

Matisse Paper Cutouts

Matisse’s paper cutouts always put me at ease. A selection from his Jazz series is on display on LACMA. Like Matisse, I also find solace in cutting color paper with scissors.

This horse and carriage was a standout.

Vintage Calling Cards

It’s time to design my own calling card of sorts so I’ve been looking for inspiration. I like to imagine a time before answering machines, voicemail and such, where individuals left a paper card with a note that reflected their own personal style.
