Happy Friday!

This weekend couldn’t have come soon enough! Tonight, I’m off to a show at The Chapel. Jessica Pratt is opening for Lee Ranaldo from Sonic Youth. Music to my ears! happy-friday

In My Mind

I love this song so much. Just wish it was easier to find the 7″. This will do for now.

Will Oldham and Dawn McCartney are playing a free show this weekend at Stranded Records in Oakland, touring for their new covers album, What Brothers Sang. They are quite a pair!

Foxygen – No Destruction

I saw Foxygen open for Moonface  their Jagjaguwar label mates last year and was enticed by their early Stones ways. Their latest album is an ode to the past acts with a mix of the present. My favorite combination 🙂 They also give shout outs to San Francisco. I like it!

Home Brew & Pizza Party

We recently took next step in home brewing and got a tap-a-draft system! They are 1 gallon plastic kegs with CO2 cartridges so you can easily have some of your beer on draft at home and not have to bottle all of it. Works for me! Nick has brewed a handful of beers that are ready to drink so we had some home brewer friends over to help drink them. Jon brought a bounty of home brew reserves adorned with lovely letterpress labels!  I made a few different pizzas (7 to be exact) and we made merriment! Can’t wait to do it again. Except next time I’ll make less pizza and taste more home brew. I get too excited about making pizza.

Margarita pizza with thyme.

I didn’t take any photos of the other pizzas while elbow deep in flour.

Is this the Sea?

Bonnie Prince Billy sings a sea shanty-like tune. This song always conjures up images of Rimbaud leaving life on land for a life at sea… for me.

Vintage Dress Patterns

Growing up, my favorite thing about going to the fabric store with my mom was always looking at the pattern book illustrations hoping one day I could make them. Still hoping to make something like these one day…

Sonoma Coast

I just returned from a weekend adventure on the Sonoma coast. It’s so close to San Francisco yet worlds away. I fell in love with the California coast line once again. Full disclosure: there might have been a hot tub overlooking the Pacific Ocean involved. That never hurts.

Going Coastal!

I’m off to the Sonoma Coast where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean. These posters express my mood completely. Don’t go postal… Go Coastal! Happy Weekend!

SF Matchbooks

I wish I had collected matchbooks and cocktail napkins in the time where they existed for all to have.

Triple Ginger Cookies

I made my favorite triple ginger cookies this past weekend for a triple celebration party (going away, birthday, and engagement!) I made a couple of small adjustments like adding blood orange zest ( I only had 1 lemon on hand) and grinding star anise with red pepper flakes to add a touch of heat. They must have turned out okay because I eat at least a dozen myself.
