Agnès Varda – Daguerréotypes

Agnès Varda is a favorite of mine. Her vantage point is always inspiring and contagious.  Daguerréotypes (1978) documents the lives of the small shopkeepers on the street where she (still) lives: rue Daguerre in Paris, FR. Many of the shots linger like still lifes of a past that has vanished. These shop keepers devoted their lives solely to their shop and their neighborhood patrons. I heart her so.

About Soup and the Clouds

I treasure the small adventures in life. Such as, listening to records, making jam from farmer's market produce, seeing new sites, eating the best tomato I've ever had, reading a good book, watching a film, appreciating a good font, going for a long bike ride or walking down a street I've never walked on before. The list goes on.
