I really wanted to make my own gift wrap this year but alas, time flew by. This might be the cutest gift wrap ever.
For your holiday listening pleasure…
Nick made a 2-color linocut for our xmas beer (a California Style Common Ale. think Anchor Christmas). His hard worked paid off! Blood, sweat, and beers.
First color being printing. Inking the block for 40+ labels is no easy task… and then again for color #2!
1 color down, 1 to go.
Now we just have to paste them to the bottles… round 3 tonight!
I found a vintage Egg Nogg Bowl with 5 (must have been 6 to start) glasses 3 years ago. Once a year, I cherish dusting it off and filling it with egg nog(g). I don’t normally own items that are only used once a year but it feels exclusively right. Especially when paired with my favorite cookies that I have been making once a year (but would have everyday if possible).
We hung the wreath I scored at the holiday swap while listening to some Aretha Franklin. These are the small moments I enjoy.
I’d like to participate in swaps for every season. It’s an excuse to make a project you’ve had in mind, and a great way to be inspired by other swappers. I work with a pretty crafty bunch and would have gladly left with 1 of everything. 5 bottles of the pumpkin liqueur got me a lovely wreath, a home brew xmas ale, spiced cookie butter, granola, and christmas candle in an ink can! Made out like a bandit.
Mr. Waits on the turntable warms my insides on a winter’s eve. He’s a crooner and a storyteller. Time to watch Down By Law again.
Him and Jim back in the day.
